Advice for businesses where energy decides the margin.
We work mainly with commercial and industrial energy users, and with the investors and lenders who back them. Different clients ask different first questions, but they need the same thing: a decision they can defend and a result they can prove.
Independent of any supplier, whatever your industry.
A deliberate focus on business energy.
Our work is built around commercial and industrial energy users. These are the clients with demand charges to manage, operations that cannot afford outages, many sites to compare and capital decisions that a board or lender has to approve.
We are not a residential solar installer. That focus lets us offer a depth of audit, financial analysis and performance management that smaller, simpler systems do not need.
Lower energy cost per unit produced.
For a manufacturer, energy is both a cost of production and a risk to it. We find where the cost comes from, test what would reduce it and make sure the answer holds up on the factory floor.
Questions we help answer
- Why does each unit we make cost more to power than it should?
- Are demand charges, power factor or our tariff class costing us money?
- What do outages and voltage problems cost our production?
- Would solar, storage or efficiency upgrades pay back at our load?
Bills, tariff, demand profile and power quality, tied back to what you produce.
Explore auditsSolar, battery, efficiency and supply options compared on payback and IRR, then tendered independently.
Explore strategyMonthly checks that the system delivers and that the bill falls as the model said it would.
Explore performanceOne standard across every site.
Property owners and retail and logistics groups run many sites with different meters, tariffs and contractors. We put them on one footing, so you can see where to act first and whether it worked.
Questions we help answer
- Which sites cost the most to power, and why?
- Are our tariffs and bills correct at every site?
- Where should we invest first across the portfolio?
- Are the savings showing up on the bill at each facility?
Bills, tariffs and consumption across the portfolio on a common basis, with billing errors flagged.
Explore auditsA phased master plan across sites and years, including who pays and who benefits where sites are leased.
Explore strategyPortfolio reporting, billing and cost verification, and contractor management across all sites.
Explore performanceKeep operations running, at a cost that makes sense.
High-demand sites, remote operations and continuous processes need power that stays on. We evaluate the supply alternatives and the long-term economics before you commit.
Questions we help answer
- What does an outage cost us, and what are our options?
- Could solar, storage or a hybrid system cut our generator running costs?
- Which grid, embedded generation or wheeled-energy options exist for us?
- How do we compare long-term supply options on a like-for-like basis?
Load profile, reliability and the cost of interruption, plus the condition of existing generation.
Explore auditsHybrid systems, generation, grid and wheeled-energy options, where available, on whole-life cost.
Explore strategyMonitoring, fault response and contractor management for remote and critical assets.
Explore performanceIndependent assurance for energy assets.
If you fund, own or lend against energy assets, you need evidence rather than assurances. We validate the assumptions before you commit, watch delivery and report on performance afterwards.
Questions we help answer
- Are the project’s yield, cost and tariff assumptions realistic?
- Is the contractor building what was specified?
- Is the asset performing as modelled and, if not, why?
- Can we get consistent reporting across a portfolio?

Do you work with residential customers?
No. We focus on commercial and industrial energy users, and on the investors and lenders who back them. The economics, contracts and risks of a business energy asset call for a different kind of advice.
My business isn’t on the list. Can you still help?
Probably. If your organisation spends heavily on energy and makes its own infrastructure decisions, the same approach applies. Tell us what you are trying to decide and we will say whether we are the right fit.
Do you work outside Botswana?
We are based in Botswana and built for the wider African market. If you have sites elsewhere in the region, talk to us and we will tell you honestly whether and how we can support them.
Whatever your industry, the advice is independent.
EnergyPlus does not sell or install equipment, so a recommendation can be less, different or later than a supplier would suggest.
EnergyPlus is part of DLX Africa, whose companies supply energy equipment. Where one of them could be the right fit, we disclose the relationship and compare it with alternatives on the same criteria.
Tell us what you are trying to decide.
We will say whether it needs an audit, a strategy, performance management, or nothing from us yet.
